- What is a cookie and what is it used for
Cookies were created in 1994 by Lou Montulli, an employee of Netscape, to solve problems concerning the limitations of identifying computers connected to a web page. Without cookies, sites cannot know if two requests come from the same device, so they need to be labelled.
Cookies are saved on the hard disk or in the memory of the visitor's computer. A cookie is a small file that is sent from a web server (which is the computer on which the website you are visiting is running) to your browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) and saved on your device when you visit a website such as EasyPatch. Cookies allow an efficient operation of the site and improve its performance, they also give information to the owner of EasyPatch for statistical or advertising purposes, mainly to personalise the browsing experience by remembering preferences and navigation modes.
The cookie is similar to a uniquely personal identification card, the purpose of which is to tell EasyPatch when you return. Many websites, including (the 'Site'), make use of them. Cookies tell us how often you visit pages, and this helps us to understand what information may be of interest to visitors. In this way, we can offer more content that is of interest to a specific behaviour and less that may not be of interest to you. Cookies help us to be more efficient and store user preferences and names, register products and services and personalise pages.
Cookies do not collect information that directly identifies the user. In fact, EasyPatch cannot use cookies to retrieve any directly personally identifiable information (e.g. first name, last name) unless provided directly by the user. Furthermore, another website cannot use a cookie issued by the Site to access other information on the user's computer. Once saved on your computer, the cookie can only be read by the website that created it (and therefore, in our case, by ). In practice, if you do not subscribe to the Site and do not enter any personal information, the only thing the server knows is that someone with that cookie has visited us again. Nothing else.
Cookies can either be"session" cookies (when they are only stored for the duration of the site browsing session and are deleted when the browser is closed), or "persistent" (they are stored for a longer time, until they expire or are deleted by the user).
- The cookies used by the Site
EasyPatch uses different types of cookies and related technologies, each of which has a specific function.
To optimise the use of the site and the full functionality of the online shopping process and personalised features, your computer, tablet or mobile device must accept cookies. Our cookie policy provides information on the type of cookies we use and how they can be managed, controlled and deleted.
We would like to specify that cookies do not harm your device.
Browsing cookies
From the first time you log in, these cookies allow the site to function correctly and allow you to view content on your device by recognising the language and market of the country from which you have chosen to connect. If you are a registered user, they enable recognition and access to the services offered in the dedicated areas. Navigation cookies are technical cookies and are necessary for the site to function.
These cookies are usually temporary, so-called "session cookies", and are issued by the Site on the user's computer during navigation, but are only stored for the duration of the navigation session itself. This means that when the user closes his browser the cookies are automatically deleted and disappear, without remaining stored on the computer. They are made up of random numbers generated by the server and serve to enable the safe and efficient exploration of the Site.
Functional cookies
These cookies make it easier for you to navigate around the Site, based on your express request, for example by recognising you on subsequent visits so that you do not have to enter your details each time you visit (e.g. "recognise me next time" authentication cookies).
If you have added items to your Shopping Cart and closed your session without completing your purchase and without deleting them, these cookies allow you to continue shopping the next time you access the site (within a limited period) by finding the items you selected.
Functional cookies are not essential to the operation of the site, but improve the quality and experience of browsing.
Analytical cookies
These cookies are used to process statistical analyses of how users navigate our site.
EasyPatch processes the results of these analyses anonymously and exclusively for statistical purposes only if the service provider uses cookies in connection with the browser used or on other devices used to browse the site. The site uses some third-party services that independently install their own cookies.
Marketing and profiling cookies
These cookies are designed to create user profiles in order to send commercial messages that meet the preferences expressed during the visit or to improve your browsing experience: while you are browsing our site these cookies are useful to show you products that interest you or that are similar to those you have viewed. These cookies are issued by the Site on your computer while you are browsing and are stored for the duration of the browsing session itself, until they expire or until you delete them (so-called "persistent cookies").
The use of such cookies requires the express and informed consent of the user.
Social Network Cookies
These cookies are necessary to enable your social account to interact with our Site. They are used, for example, to let you express your appreciation and share it with your social friends. Social network cookies are not necessary for browsing.
